Swapping out my crankset.

Postby Maglia Rosa » Sat Oct 12, 2013 09:20 am

Hi all.

I just ordered a new FSA gossemer double crankset (was reduced from 250 to 50 so felt now was a good time).

The current crank is also a gossemer compact. I was going to just leave the bearings in so I will not be faffing around with a press. What I do need to know is, what other adjustments do I need to make? My rear cage is ok so I know I dont need to change that. But would I need to adjust the height of the front derailleur on the seat tube or would I be able to alter its setting to the new bigger ring by screw adjustments? Going from compact to a standard I wouldnt think the diameter difference is too much but any advice on this would be very helpful

Cheers.

You'll have to raise the Front derailleur and consequently adjust cabling. You may also need a longer chain but you'll have to see once it's fitted.
