Evans Ride it Nottingham

Postby oxoman » Tue Nov 05, 2013 11:48 am

Any body on here signed up for it this year. Sold out this year already, was hoping to get my mate along with me but never mind he should have made his mind up earlier.

Hi Oxman

It also caught us out!!!

This is one of our original venues and when I look at it now, it's tiny!!!!

I will be looking for a bigger venue for next year and we can get more people along........

Brilliant, i did it last year and it was great, hope you find a bigger place to start from. How about Sherwood Pines no different than starting at tackeroo for cannock one.

Dean,
Kudos to yourself in keeping the Evans Ride It's simple and straightforward. I notice the Wiggle events are now supplying 'free' t-shirts for finishers - which of course are anything but free. Lots of complaints about it on their facebook page, including from myself, who aren't interested in t-shirts. Sportives are not charity rides after all.

Makes me appreciate the Evans approach of providing what's important and keeping the price low :)

Just in case you missed it see below.
Dear riders,
This is an important notice to let you know that we have had to cancel this weekend’s Nottingham Ride It! event.
Unfortunately we have received a very late request from the local emergency services requiring us to provide stand by ambulances and additional first aiders for this event, which despite our best efforts we have not been able to secure in the short time frame available to us.
We pride ourselves in running safe events and in almost 6 years and 150 events we have never received a request like this before.
We fully appreciate the inconvenience this late cancellation will cause and apologise for this. All riders will receive a full refund on their entry fee which we will process early next week. We are attempting to reschedule this event over the comings weeks and will let you know when this is confirmed.
Once again we are extremely sorry to cancel an event that many of our customers were so looking forward to.
The Ride It! Team.

Cheers Guys.

Yep, all those "free" T-shirts, Medals and Goodie bags......Are they really free?

We'll keep it simple and as cheap as we can for as long as we can.

Sorry for the small increase on next years events - you wouldn't believe the predicted losses on the first run at the budget

Real shame about Nottingham, but this is covered in the other thread.

Dean
