I'd be surprised if no one has called social services.

Now that is very impressive... I'll be showing that to my 11 year old!

Well done that lad.

It's no fun unless he dies at the end :(

He definitely doesn't seem to be enjoying the first couple of minutes!

Well played to him though, seriously impressive effort from a 10 year old.

There's a dad who has been watching too much Tour De France this summer...

It's no different to the likes of 10 year olds being pushed to play football / tennis / most other sports you can think of.

There was a programme recently I where (I think) an 8 year old had climbed all the Wainwrights with his Dad. Some may question if he should have been running around with his friends, but I've no doubt it was a great experience for both of them. (Edit: looking at wikipedia is seems a 6 year old has done them all!)

Oh come on...

Good on the lad, bet he felt terrific at the top! I remember my Dad taking me up Snowdon when I was a similar age, it felt like I'd climbed everest! The fact that 15 years later i used to run/cycle up it after work is irrelevant...

( I don't sound much different when I climb  )

Nice bit of fun, not as hard as you might think, my 11 year did the Galibier at 11 and he hadn't ridden a bike for about 4 months. I was hoping it might get him back into it and he was keen having done Ventoux the year before but only from Chalet Reynard. Unfortunately he's not ridden his bike in the three months since either !

Nice photo... interesting that the Stelvio was his "Via Crucis" during the 2005 Giro... he lost 45 minutes or so... all that early training for nothing...

This reminds me of the 10 year old lad who rode up Alpe D'Huez which was posted here (I think) a while back.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClozVBQ9064

Out of the saddle most of the time and overtaking lots of other riders... impressive stuff.

^ha, nice. I guess the 40kg body mass of these guys helps a decent amount. Still very impressive.

That was my first ever cycling helmet (I was the only person racing locally wearing an EPS helmet in early 1990, everyone else was still on leather hairnets!).
