Estate agents in Belgium are using the incentive of a free Dahon bike to beat the downturn in the housing market and sell apartments in downtown Brussels.
And the move by Euro-Domus seems to be paying off, with more than half of the 30 flats, which start at 100,000 euros (approx £89,000/US$133,000), already sold. The new owners will be given their Curve D3 folding bikes next month.
The company's CEO, Michel Gilbert, said: “These stylish folding bikes with their compact 16in wheels are perfect to get from A to B, especially when your car is parked too far away or if parts of the trip have to be done by train or by bus. I am sure that folding bikes will become a growing part of transportation in Brussels.”
