Giro launches First Friday 50

Limited edition product runs sell through Facebook

This year Giro Sport Design is making small-batch runs of products and selling them via Facebook on the first Friday of each month. The first product, an "East Meets West" cycling cap, sold out the stock of 50 almost immediately last Friday.

The First Friday 50 program is available to anyone who likes Giro on Facebook.

“Giro has always been a design company,” said Giro design director Eli Atkins. “This is a chance for our designers to let some of their more creative ideas see the light of day. At the same time, it’s an opportunity to offer our Facebook fans a chance to get something truly special from us.”

With “East Meets West," Giro tips its cotton cap to cycling culture in New York City and San Francisco. The "East" side of the hat features the NYC skyline, while the "West" shows the Golden Gate Bridge.
