Gore Bike Wear Sportive series continues for 2009

Wales and Scotland to host road challenges

After a successful debut in 2008, the Gore Bike Wear Sportive series will take place again this year, with two events in Wales and one in Scotland.

The events will be run in conjunction with the Merida Bikes MTB Marathon Series, with rounds in Llanwrtyd Wells, Ruthin and Selkirk.

The sportives offer rides of 80-100 miles for those who want to take on the ‘classic’ distance, taking in the best road climbs that Wales and the Scottish Borders have to offer. There’s also a ‘standard’ 40-50 mile option.

The routes will be fully marked but every rider will get a small ‘backup map’, High5 will provide food and drink en-route, and there’ll also be mechanical support.

Entry costs £25. For more details and to enter, go to the GoreBikewearSportives website.
