New gear from DT Swiss, Lazer helmets, Smith Optics, Saris and TRP

The rear hub is again based on DT Swiss' 340 model and features Center Lock rotor compatibility - just add an adapter for six-bolt discs.

  • Lazer's new Tardis is near delivery with its speedy-looking shape.
  • DT Swiss tackles the mid-range wheel market with the new R 1600 clincher road wheels.
  • The rear hub is essentially the same as the high-end 240s save for the heavier steel axle.
  • The shallow 24mm-deep aluminium clincher rim helps keep the total weight down to a reasonable 1,600g per pair.
  • Off-road riders get their own M 1600 wheels with the same 1,600g wheelset weight.
  • The rear hub is again based on DT Swiss' 340 model and features Center Lock rotor compatibility - just add an adapter for six-bolt discs.
  • Front hubs will be offered in 9mm, 15mm and 20mm fitments.
  • The long awaited DT Swiss RRC 1250 all-carbon clincher road wheels are now finally in production.
  • The shallow all-carbon rim spins up quickly and provides pulse-free braking.
  • DT Swiss builds the RRC 1250 around its top-end 190 ceramic hubs.
  • Hallelujah! DT Swiss has released its new 10-degree ratchet rings for the aftermarket - for just US$30 a pair no less.
  • Lazer's new Tardis is near delivery with its speedy-looking shape.
  • The dimpled rear end supposedly reduces drag…
  • …as does the matt finish.
  • A novel port right up top is designed for water, not air.
  • Dump water into the top of the Tardis and the X-Static padding will supposedly absorb and redistribute it to help keep your head cool.
  • Channels in the shell are specially designed to help funnel water to the outer reaches of your noggin.
  • The new Lazer Nirvana is aimed at cross-country riders who are looking for a bit more protection.
  • Large rear vents should help evacuate hot air from beneath the helmet.
  • Big front ports will bring in cooling air.
  • The X-Static pads are slimmed down around the brow to prevent sweat build-up.
  • Naturally, Lazer will equip the new Tardis and Nirvana with its superb Rollsys retention system.
  • Smith Optics launches the new PivLock V90 shield.
  • The frameless design keeps the weight low and maximises the field of view.
  • The trick temples easily detach from the lens with just a 45-degree upward pivot for quick tint changes.
  • Got fog? Try Smith Optics' Fog Master lens surface treatment.
  • The Saris Bones RS trunk rack goes on quickly and tightens securely with the built-in ratcheting straps.
  • The straps aren't woven nylon - they're rubber-coated steel.
  • The yellow ratchet arms allow for an extra-tight installation and can also be locked in place for security.
  • The composite arms can hold up to three bikes…
  • …and they fold down when not in use.
  • Saris also have two special-edition Bones racks: one in pink to benefit breast cancer research and the other one to benefit leukemia patients.
  • TRP's new 970SL brake is made from forged and machined magnesium for a final weight of just over 100g per wheel.
  • The simple quick release mechanism requires just a simple lateral slide of the barrel adjuster to open up the arms.
  • The arms are heavily machined to save weight.
