OneTen clothing - First look

Road jersey, bib and cap from new cycling brand

OneTen is a new cycle clothing brand from Hotlines, who’ve wasted no time in getting a selection of garments over to us for testing. At present the range is limited to 10 items of road wear, including jerseys, bib shorts, arm and leg warmers. Mountain bike clothing is apparently in development.

You could be forgiven for thinking the name of the Giro Short Sleeve Jersey reflects an Italian origin (it does have a 'Made in Europe' label, so you never know). Costing £39.99 and available in three colours (black/white, red/white or white), it’s made from a fast-drying microfibre polyester, has a full-length zip and mesh side panels.

The medium size pictured had a body-hugging yet comfortable fit, with a longer rear to stop the wearer's back being exposed. Internal stitching and labels are kept to a minimum, boosting comfort, while four rear pockets (one zipped) add practicality.

The Intimo Sleeveless Base Layer (£24.99) takes the minimal internal stitching/labels theme to the extreme – its label is attached, somewhat incongruously, to the exterior. OneTen say it’s designed for all riders of all levels, from someone on their daily commute to high-level competition (we reckon it’d be more suitable for the latter). It features mesh shoulder and back panels to help keep you dry, and is again made from fast-drying polyester for all-day comfort.

The Primo Bib Shorts (£49.99) also have an exterior label but this is likely to be covered up when riding. Made from an 80/20 polyester/Lycra mix, the bibs have leg grippers that blend into the rest of the design, and a perforated form chamois.

Finally, the Estati (£9.99) is a cotton cap that fits under the helmet for an extra layer of protection from sun, wind and rain. It's available in grey or white, and in two sizes for different shaped domes. For more information, visit Hotlines' website.
