The British National Downhill Championships took place at Llangynog near Bala, North Wales at the weekend and Steve Peat (Santa Cruz Syndicate) topped the men's elite podium ahead of Team BikeRadar's Marc Beaumont and Neil Donoghue who bagged silver and bronze respectively.
In the elite women's race, Tracy Moseley (Kona) finished over eight seconds ahead of Helen Gaskell (Halfords Bikehut). Katy Curd (Giant) took bronze. Rachel Atherton was airlifted to hospital after colliding with a tree during practice.
Josh Bryceland took the gold in the men's Junior competition with a blistering time that would have placed him second on the podium in the men's Elite race. Sam Dale and Joe Smith took second and third place respectively.
