Pro bike: Ivan Basso's Cannondale Slice Hi-Mod Giro d'Italia

Even so, the position is still very aggressive.

  • Cannondale have supplied Ivan Basso (Liquigas) with a special lighter-weight version of their Slice time trial frameset.
  • A special lay-up schedule has supposedly shed 150g from the frame, fork and seatpost.
  • Basso's time trial bike is now BB30-equipped for lighter weight - almost 1.6kg in total! - though he has now lost his SRM power meter.

  • Basso's fi'zi:k Arione saddle has a specially shortened nose in order to meet UCI guidelines for minimum setback.
  • Basso's bike is still equipped with an SRM PowerControl VI computer head but there is no power meter to go with it here.
  • A bit of electrical tape apparently smoothes the lines around the computer transmitter - anything for even a fraction of a second.
