The many cavernous halls of Eurobike are crowded with bike brand after bike brand, each looking to differentiate themselves with often painfully similar product. For Mario Cipollini, making a splash has never been a problem. In Friedrichshafen, he launched a new bike with a knock-off James Bond video featuring himself.
The Bond frame has a unique design. The monocoque front triangle and yoked seat stays are fairly straightforward, but the chain stay is unusual in that it is made with the dropouts and a circular wrap around the bottom bracket as one piece. The front triangle, the seat stays and the chain stays are then all bonded together.
Another standout piece is the integrated chain catcher, which is attached directly to the frame.
The frame weighs 1,050g and costs 2,990 Euros. US and UK pricing were not immediately available.
The Bond is also available as a complete bike, in both electric and mechanical configurations.
