Travelling abroad for riding holidays, races or training camps can be a hassle, but EVOC have used their years of globe-trotting experience to minimise the fuss involved in packing up and protecting your bike.
The Bike Travel Bag has a fully padded, tear-resistant Rip-Stop Nylon interior. It’s big too – simply remove your wheels and undo your bars from the stem, and even an extra long downhill mountain bike fits straight in. Saddle heights of up to 72cm can be accommodated complete, but larger bikes will need the seatpost removed.
Frame, wheels and handlebars are separated and protected from harm by the heavy-duty construction and cleverly placed padding and reinforcing ribs. The internal strapping system keeps everything in place and the bars can be firmly secured to the inside of the bag.
The chainstays rest on a raised padded section, to protect your rear mech while in transit. The bottom bracket, front and rear dropouts are all protected from being crushed thanks to the thoughtful design so you can do without the normal protective measures.
The wheel pockets are located to the rear of the bag – having them here puts more weight at the back of the bag, making it easier to manoeuvre – and are spacious enough to accommodate the chunkiest of downhill tyres. They also feature ‘ribs’ to protect your rotors. There’s even a transparent internal pocket for stowing pedals and axles.
Well-spaced wheels and properly placed handles mean carting the bag around is easy too. The wheels are made from skateboard standard resin and roll on sealed bearings to keep things smooth and quiet.
The biggest draw about the Evoc is definitely the fit – there’s a place for everything. There’s no excess material so bikes fit snuggly and securely. The 10mm thick outer fabric will fend off even the most ignorant of baggage handlers so that when you reach your destination, your bike emerges in pristine condition. At more than £250, it isn’t cheap but if you travel with your bike regularly, it’s worth every penny.

Nice review, am looking to buy this bag. Regarding the 72cm measurement, is this measured vertically or along the post & tube? Is it measured to the top of the seat to the bottom bracket?, or was it measured inside the bag from the top of the bag to the top of the bottom bracket rest? Or was it measured from the top of the bag to the bottom of the bag?
Thaqnks you're help is appreciated I have an integrated seat post.
