Madison D'arcs Triple Set

BikeRadar verdict

45 out of 5 stars

"Great value, superbly versatile and functional glasses for the non-fashionista"

By Ian Collins & Paul Smith

These bargain glasses come with three lenses to adapt to any light conditions and each has its own nosepiece, which makes swapping between them a quick and easy job.

The lack of lower frame provides a wide field of vision and means the frame and lens click apart if squashed, rather than snapping. Even if they do come apart, they’re a cinch to reassemble.

They fit most faces well, but not so closely that they cut down airflow, and resemble classic Oakley M Frames. The set includes dark, clear and contrast-enhancing yellow lenses. The only downside is that they look a bit ‘garage forecourt’.

Good value and a nice looking set of glasses. When time trialling I would like them to be slightly higher up my face as you can often see the top frame in your sight line which is a bit off putting.

Cant fault them, plus I got mine for £22 from my local bike shop, the light enhancing lens is orange rather than yellow as on some others I have seen which to me is cool for some reason !! And you get a carry case and strap as an added bonus.

These are great value and very comfortable. I like the way the light enhancing lens makes everywhere look sunny even on a grey day. I just came back from a ride in driving rain and had no problems with misting up at all. They really keep the rain and dust at bay. Very easy to change the lenses. Comes with a nice case, soft pouch, two nose pieces and a neck cord. Only downside is that because the glasses are straight over the ears the cord doesn't have a lot to hold onto, but that's a very minor niggle and they haven't fallen off yet. The really good thing about these is that I bought them from my local bike shop (Swindon Cycle Superstore) and I still haven't found them cheaper elsewhere.
