Oakley Jawbone (09) | $294.61
BikeRadar verdict
"The innovative Jawbone once more puts Oakley ahead of the game"
Unlike the amazingly popular Radar glasses, which use a more conventional single-piece lens design, the new Jawbones use independent lenses and have an aggressive look that’s evolved from the late Racing Jacket design.
The key feature of the Jawbone is the incredibly easy Switchlock lens changing system – the nosepiece swings to allow the lower part of the frame to open and the lenses to slide out.
There’s the option of both black iridium and high intensity yellow lenses –our Jawbones were finished in the Retina Burn yellow, which adds to the bug-like look.
The optical clarity is phenomenally good – there is no distortion of trail obstacles and you won’t be getting any headaches from these lenses either.
There are two pairs of nosepieces to suit different nose shapes, and they’re coated with the same Unobtainium rubber as the ear pieces – which stick to your ears even more when wet.
We found the Jawbones comfier than both the old Racing Jackets and the de rigueur Radar, and their vented lenses – which come as standard – resist fogging better than virtually all other eyewear.
The only downside is that coverage isn’t quite as good for those with dodgy noses, whereas the different lens size options on the Radar can compensate for odd-sized facial features.

User review of Oakley Jawbone (09)
Had mine for a few weeks now, perform superbly. Fit is excellent, optical clarity is so good, for commuting I've never had to fit the yellow lenses in the rain (but I do for dark woodsy riding if it's cloudy/wet)
Lens changing is very easy, vents keep mist at bay and they look great.
Worth every penny.

had the polished black ones with the + positive red iridium polarised lenses, cracking product, easily beat the m frames, twenties, racing jackets and maybe even to a push the radars... although both are brilliant for cycling. Loads of lens choices for the avid rider to be able to suit every coniditon. I will buy some hi yellow vented lenses then i have every possible light condition. Go get some, if you can find them in stock, i've had mine on order since MARCH!! Hodgy.

User review of Oakley Jawbone (09)
Iv had these for a few weeks also now, put them through two weeks in Scotland in sun and pouring rain. Im very impressed, got the matt black frames with the yellow tinted spare lens. Used the yelow ones most of the time as it was a bit gloomy but they keep rain, dirt, and wind out of your eyes brilliantly. I have got a scratch on the yellow lens some how so becareful if you get any but its not noticable when they are on. they can fog up if you stop or slow down a bit but it was a quite wet and warm day which may not have helped oh and the sweat pouring from my forehead and through the glasses. Well chuffed though and defo worth it for anyone thinking, stop thinking pick fav colour and go buy!!
