The bright, elongated central spot of the Moon X POWER 300 is complemented by a larger weaker area of light to give a good beam pattern for riding along country roads at a decent pace.

There are constant modes as well as flashing. Curiously, despite being able to hold down the button to turn it off, you still have to cycle through ‘off’ to return to a mode.

The Moon is brighter than some more expensive lights, but at two hours it doesn't have a very long burn time. Usefully, it has a battery indicator light to show when charge is running low, and the USB charger with plug adapter gives plenty of options for recharging when it does run out.
