RSP Contego 15mm self-coiling lock review£29.99

Purely a visual deterrant

BikeRadar score1/5

The Contego looked promising and at 188cm long would easily fit around most parts of your bike. So test one, and out came our trusty bolt croppers.

In just under nine seconds, the lock was broken, using a tool that a thief could easily conceal under their coat.

Once we’d forced the croppers through the thick plastic casing – which was actually more troublesome than the cable – we discovered that the wire is just 6.5mm thick and you can cut it with pliers (we know, we tried).
