RSP Suscept Folding Plate Lock (09) | $57
BikeRadar verdict
"A reasonable choice for quick pit-stops but not for higher security tasks"
The Suscept is adaptable, convenient and looks very similar to Abus’s Bordo, but when you get to the nitty gritty, things are rather different.
The Suscept’s plates are 2.5mm thick, the Abus’s 4mm; the Abus’s case is softer, more supple, the RSP’s is more plastic than rubber. So how susceptible to thieves is the Suscept?
Well, 40 seconds of levering and we’d popped one of the rivets allowing the lock to fall open. The Suscept is a neat idea and it’s decent as a quick-stop lock, but don’t rely on it as your only means of security.
