CamelBak Podium Chilljacket bottle review
BikeRadar verdict
"A great idea for die-hard water bottle fans, the Chilljacket benefits from Camelbak’s bite valve technology"
Shopping partners
Water bottles have the annoying habit of rapidly turning your chilled energy drink to tepid pond water.
Enter CamelBak with their Podium Chilljacket, a thermal water bottle that holds 620ml of water and keeps it cold for hours – way longer than it takes to drink that amount.
Just putting cold water in the bottle will do the trick, but it does help if you store it in the fridge because that way it’ll keep your drink ice cold and the bottle won’t grow funky stuff inside. It’s also top-shelf safe in the dishwasher, if you’re too lazy to use a tap.

Saw this short piece and it reminded me of a longer article where someone did an actual hands on test of the bottle. They said it lasted several hours in the sun without going all the way warm. Here is the link to the longer one: http://cyclingworldnews.com/2009/08/hands-on-camelbak-podium-chilljacket/

Twice as hard to squeeze as other bottles, but then it is twice the price as well so i guess you get what you pay for !

Not got one but are you meant to squeeze it? Isn't that the point of the bite valve?

Great. They work and do what they are supposed to.
650 is the size so you lose out a bit on the maximum 750 my other bottles can carry but the fluids are much much cooooler :)
As for being a bit hard to squeeze ... uhh not at all unless you are a bit weak in the finger department.
A solution to this Problem if it exits is ........ Practice and carry the bottle around with with you and drink from it every day then the plastic will loosen up or ...........................................your fingers will get stronger.
I hope this helps :)
Spout is great and dont spill a drop, insulation works and the bottle looks good too.
Drawback is its expensive for what it is and you cant carry as much as you would with a normal bottle.
Oh and weaker cyclists may be too tired or not buff enough to S.. QU... E..E..Z...E !!!!

All the CamelBak bite vale bottles are brilliant. Easy to use, drip freeb and easy to clean. They are just BETTER than anything else.
Watch out if you have Speciaized cages though as they are a very tight fit - nothing worse than struggling to get your bottle out as you climb your fave hill.
