In the case of the Durango 2, product managers may have been too focused on how the bike looks on paper — the spec offers all the right answers, but on the trail this 26in-wheeled bike is underwhelming. The old-school long top tube and steep head angle, as well as a narrow, weirdly bent bar, mean this bike isn't particularly beginner-friendly. A sub-par set of cables ruined the shift quality of the Shimano components.

  • Standout features: Good drivetrain components (Shimano Deore derailleurs with Shadow technology, Octalink bottom bracket spindle and crank); Tektro Draco brakes
  • Pros: Stiff wheels and good grip from Geax tires; 11-34t cassette
  • Cons: Dated geometry feel; harsher ride; poor shifting (due to cheap cables); odd bar bend
  • Weight: 13.94kg/30.29lb. Wheelset: 4.83kg/10.66lb
