Foska’s waterproof jacket is perfect for cold and wet riding conditions, and has some useful features including easy-to-grab zips and Velcro fasteners on the sleeves. The bright yellow colour will help you to be noticed on the roads too.
The jacket uses Hydrovent™ waterproof technology, and it did its job well in the worst the heavens could chuck at it. The taped seams on all the zipped areas provide a tight seal to keep the elements out.
It has an internal lining which adds bulk, which means you probably wouldn’t use the jacket as a packable ‘just-in-case’ item. We wouldn’t wear it in warmer conditions either – we got hot very, especially when wearing a rucksack.
The underarm vents, which can be easily zipped or unzipped with all but the thickest of gloves, provide some body cooling relief, but if you’re riding hard you’ll probably have to undo the main zip for additional on-the-fly air conditioning.
The large Velcro cuffs are easy to do up and were a welcome addition when trying to keep out the rain, wind and cold. The high collar with drawstring helps keep out the cold and provides a good barrier from the wind too.
Reflective strips on the arms and rear are useful for visibility at night, and the striking yellow colour will definitely make you stand out.
The jacket does have a slight drop tail, but we’d have liked a longer one to keep more rain and crud away from our bums.
