Highly protective softshell that fits a multitude of different uses

The Apex is more all-weather softshell than foul weather jacket, but the top's breathability and water-resistant outer make it an ideal choice for the mountain bike.

The Apex fabric is brushed on the inside for warmth, and the hard-wearing nature of the stretchy outer fits in well with rough and tumble, highly mobile outdoor pursuits.

All the major seams are sonically welded together rather than stitched and then back taped on the rear to increase strength and durability. This high tech joining method also gives the tops a stylish, anatomic cut that hugs the body.

The slightly longer back will keep you covered in the saddle, and the only real downside is its pack size. It's definitely one we'd travel in though, even if it was only down to the pub - and there's no escaping The North Face desirability.
