Our review
A really rather good waterproof shell for trail hounds

When developing this Speed 2 jacket, Salomon had three aims: keeping water out, keeping wind out and looking great — and it has met those objectives admirably.

Waterproofing comes courtesy of the Acti Lite Poly mesh fabric, aided by fully taped seams and a cut that allows the neck, cuffs and lower hem to be cinched to create a tight seal. The jacket is impressively lightweight.

The arms are generously long without being annoying, as is the drop tail.

We like the see-through watch window, although it does steam up when you’re working hard.
