"Superb performance – but it'll cost you…"
This is a lightweight, high-quality jersey for those in-between days when it’s too cool for short sleeves but not cold enough for full-on insulation.
In terms of performance, the Assos is a gem and you’ll get loads of use from it. It's perfect for spring/autumn rides and summer mornings and evenings round these (British) parts. Only trouble is, it’s frickin’ expensive.
The polyester/polyamide fabric is highly breathable and it dries out fast when you do get it sweaty, while the Airblock front panel keeps the wind off your chest; you can open up the full-length zip when you need extra ventilation.
The cuffs and hem are elasticated to stop the breezes getting in and you get the standard three pockets in the lower back plus an extra zippered one for valuables.
There’s also a small amount of reflective piping to get you seen.
The overall cut is slim, and sizing is a touch smaller than most US and UK options, so try before you buy if possible.

I also bought this jacket from wiggle and almost immediately it began to pluck about the inside of the collar and rear of the jacket. I have ten year old jackets that haven't done this! Within a couple of months it looked really old. I washed it exactly as per the instructions etc and can only guess that the fault is from my helmet straps rubbing - but this does not happen with any of my cheaper jerseys. You could have at least two hard wearing jerseys for this price and I won't ever buy Assos again.

Bought this from wiggle when they had an offer for £85. The jacket was recommended by someone and so i went ahead.
WOW!!
Ive used this for all my commutes so far and on a trip to the pyrenees. PERFECT!!
Warmth - is up to you, it can be worn with a variety of undergarments for extra insulation.
Climbing you just unzip it and this makes it really cool
Descending zip it up and you dont feel teh wind at all.
I also got caught out in the rain and with 26km to go the temperature plumeted and rain was lashing. When i got home i was soaked with the exception of my body. The entire front was dry meaning i didnt get as cold as i could have done.
At £125 its expensive but for what i paid nothing else could touch it.
