Gore's latest jacket is a masterpiece. Their Windstopper fabric does exactly what it's supposed to, and it shrugs off showers. The inner fabric shifts sweat well enough to wear over bare skin, and it also dries very fast.
Separate patched pieces give an incredible figure-hugging fit on the bike, but it's not very street stylish, if that matters to you. There a chest pocket for your phone or iPod, and a back pocket too, and it's beautifully made, wit h excellent long-term performance. The sleeves also zip off (or unzip partially for ventilation) to reveal a short-sleeved version underneath, extending its use from showery summer to winter. This makes it a true 'complete' jacket and well worth the biggest price tag here.
