Ground Effect Women's Toasty Pie review

Those natty Ground Effect people over in New Zealand have a selection of winter clothing that's well suited to UK riding, which is not surprising when you think that they have a similar climate - albeit six months askew from ours!

A bargain winter fleece for chilly winter days. It looks pretty stylish too

Their Toasty Pie fleece is great value for money and as the name suggests, pretty toasty too. As a lightweight fleece the jersey is soft and cosy, so ideal for winter riding and off-the-bike use. In addition, the front zipper opens right down to the waist to allow loads of ventilation, should you need it. When zipped up, the neck is high and keeps out winter draughts, and the cuffs are double thickness and have elastic loops to keep them snug and in place while stretched out on the bike. Two pockets on the rear provide safe storage for spares, thanks to easy-touse zippers, and there's even a sewn-in tube patch in one as a nice surprise. Reflective strips across the rear and elbows also provide safety for night rides.
