BikeRadar verdict

4 out of 5 stars

"Not a full winter warmer, but a superb bad-weather race shoe"

By Guy Kesteven & Ian Collins

On any top race shoe, maximum stiffness is the key, and the carbon fibre-reinforced sole of the 182 makes it ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ fast whenever the power goes down.

Twin straps and a ratchet lock your foot in place equally firmly for pedalling or running, and a pair of replaceable studs at the front of the sole give good grip in mud.

The full polyurethane-coated synthetic leather uppers shrug off the worst of the grot far better than a mesh-topped shoe

Water does come in via the cuff and unsealed sole if you paddle, though, and tight fit means we’d advise sizing up one, maybe even two, Euro sizes.
