Slimline race kicks

This might seem like a lot of money to spend on a shoe with a nylon sole, but the carbon fibre reinforcement means the Genius 5 is really stiff and the weight stays low. The slim and shallow fit is quintessentially Italian.

A bump under the ball of your foot helps to control knee alignment and there’s good arch support too, though we found the heel cup could be more supportive. The Velcro straps use interlocking nylon teeth for extra security and allow a tight fit over the whole foot.

Sidi’s efficient Caliper buckle has a simple one-step release and pulls on a wide, soft strap that’s both comfortable and secure. We like the replaceable heel pad too.
