BikeRadar verdict
"Casual shoe for performance- oriented commuters/tourers"
Until now Trek hasn’t had a big presence in the cycling shoe and kit market. That’s set to change in 2009 with the introduction of a comprehensive range of shoes and clothing from its Bontrager component division.
Bontrager certainly appears serious – its website makes a big deal of the ‘science of comfort’ and the research and design that’s gone into the new range. Its top-end road shoes certainly look the part with carbon outsoles, a customisable insole and a unique last.
We’ve yet to get our feet into those, but the last – which promises extra stability – and the insole also feature in the Street.
This ‘casual’ offering feels more supportive than many similar shoes, with a stiff sole that, on the bike, feels closer to a road shoe’s. That said, it’s still easy to walk in with the cleat – mountain bike-style only – set just deep enough.
The synthetic leather uppers are supportive but they’re snug around the toes – try a size up. The custom insole – from eSoles – is a neat idea, but some won’t get on with the supplied removable arch. And at present there’s only one place in the UK to get them customised.
Manufacturers description
* Efficient and comfortable entry level shoe for spinning or all-day comfort on the road * Stiff nylon plate with full rubber outsole * 3 Velcro straps for simplicity and light weight * Premium perforated microfiber upper for fit and breathability * 2-hole SPD-style cleat attachment * eSoles premium insole for optimal fit and support Construction Like all shoes, Bontrager cycling shoes are constructed around specially-designed forms, called the shoe's "last." We've designed our inForm last to deliver the ideal amount of toe-spring, with the toes at a slight angle in relation to the sole to help lock and stabilize the foot while cycling. We find that this amount of toe-spring puts the foot in a comfortable, yet performance-oriented position. The Bontrager "last," or form, also features a roomier toe box, for better circulation and more blood flow. A snug mid-foot adds to a more efficient pedal stroke. And unlike most other cycling shoes, our shoes are designed to use orthotic insoles for long-term foot health and comfort. Cut Bontrager shoes are engineered for maximum adjustability to fit the broadest spectrum of foot widths. One of the features you'll see on many of our shoe models is what is called a "derby" cut. A derby cut is a pattern where the tongue of the shoe extends all the way to the toe. It's very unique in cycling shoes, but has a very specific advantage. It makes the volume of the toe box much more adjustable in order to accommodate a wider variety of feet. Cup Bontrager cycling shoe's feature a heel cup that's design to eliminate heel slip while you're turning the pedals. By utilizing an external cup, we're able to use a thicker, stronger plastic, padded with several layers of cushion between you and the cup, making it more comfortable and achieving a better fit. Shoes that use an internal cup have to use a thinner and less rigid material, which sacrifices performance. Additional advantages of the external cup include better ventilation and a harder, more protective external surface. Customization Bontrager is the only cycling shoe on the market specifically designed to accommodate a custom or customizable insole. All shoe models come stock with an insole exclusively designed for Bontrager by eSoles. These insoles are the most universal and neutral insoles available, developed using data collected from over 25,000 foot scans to provide the ideal amount of support for the widest variety of feet.User Reviews

That would be CycleFit, in Covent Garden, I guess (on their website they claim to be the exclusive supplier of eSoles in the UK). Though thats just eSoles, I'd guess you could get other custom footbeds fitted, like Sidas etc - and there are other places that do those.
