Northwave Tribute triathlon shoes (10) | $190.78
BikeRadar verdict
"Tri-specific race shoes that are perfect for fast transitions, if a little on the sweaty side "
Triathlon racing shoes aren’t like other bike shoes. You need to be able to slip in and out of them quickly, you need good grip for running through the transition area, you need breathability and you need a scuff-resistant heel cup, should your shoes drag on the concrete as you run with your bike.
These bright white offerings from Northwave deliver well in most departments. Their velcro straps and heel tab mean you can whip them on and off in a jiffy, while their stiff carbon soles make them light and super-stiff, giving plenty of leverage against the pedals.
The insoles may be a bit minimalist and they’re not the most breathable shoes we’ve ever worn, but minor quibbles aside, they come well recommended.
