Specialized have updated their classic Enduros for 2009 and the resulting shorts will be great once the hot summer arrives.
The easily removed liner shorts feature Specialized’s BG Comp chamois to maximise comfort and breathability, and the mesh fabric is breezily cool.
The feathery feel extends to the outer shorts, too. The front panel and upper legs are made from resilient mesh that allows significantly more airflow than standard nylon shell fabrics.
This means that leg vents and their associated additional bulk aren’t needed and weight can be kept to a minimum – making these among the lightest men’s baggy shorts around, as well as one of the most comfortable.
Volume adjustment is taken care of with tough, double-stitched and buckled tapes but the single press stud fastening doesn’t quite cut the mustard when it comes to coping with post-chip-shop tummies.

had a hours ride in them so far, really comfortable and feel very durable..

I had some last year, very comfortable. I missed having pockets in the normal place but the main concern was that I wore through them within a year - my (specialized) saddle just wore through them within a thousand miles, through the remains away

^^ I would say 1k out of a pair of light weight summer shorts is good going. Much better than the approx 500 miles I got out of a pair of Endura Humvees.
Anyway, I have a pair of these and they are pretty decent.
The zipped leg pockets are easy access even during a ride, the fabric is nice and stretchy and material is very light weight.
Avoid getting Velcro on the shorts as it pulls them apart.

Specialized Enduros are my preferred shorts, very comfortable and hard wearing. I never use shorts in pockets so not a great concern to me where they're placed. Only thing I'd add is a silicon gripper on the inside of the waist so they can be worn easily with bib shorts and not keep slipping down :p
