German company Maloja make some great colourful kit, including these excellent women’s shorts which are made from soft, stretchy, hi-twill Lycra.

They have a liner that works on its own as a pair of Lycra shorts, with a full featured synthetic chamois and tall waistband for comfort. Twin Velcro straps on the outer shorts cinch the waist and hook into the inner.

The shorts sit just on the knee, and have a loose but well-cut fit, which looks great when you’re riding, and off the bike too. A stretch panel below the waistband at the rear increases ventilation, and there are small hand pockets for change or keys.
