Dependable shorts, with a good fit and useful features

The Sunday, despite its laidback name, gives an instant impression of hard-wearing dependability. Closer inspection reveals a mix of panels and fabric, with stretch running down the legs, rip-stop in areas more prone to wear and mesh venting too.

It’s a well specified combination that works well – the shorts ride lighter than they look and feel, and if not bombproof, can definitely withstand sustained shelling. The shape of the front and back yoke makes for a good fit over the hips.

The silicone gripper that runs round the inner waistband does a surprisingly good job at keeping the shorts in place. There’s also an in-pocket loop, two-position fastening (for too-many-pies-at-lunch days) and a Neoprene rear panel.
