Our review
Thoughtfully designed bibs, but not as comfy as we’d like

Adidas clearly demonstrates its knowledge of what bike riders need with these new Adistar bib shorts. They’re made from a luxurious-feeling Lycra/Tactel blend, which provides a close fit and decent muscle support.

Strategically placed vents and mesh, plus panels of Climalite wicking fabrics, help disperse heat and sweat, while the full flat-lock seaming helps reduce the chances of chafing.

Adidas’s 3D Pro Stretch Pad uses a multi-density construction to boost comfort levels, along with a soft-touch outer fabric layer.

The elasticated leg cuffs didn’t feel especially comfortable, although we did like the rubberised leg grippers, which ensured a tight fit without leaving us feeling like we had a tourniquet on.

Those trademark triple stripes up the legs didn’t like staying flat, either, which doesn’t affect performance but can be annoying.

The bibs are available in four sizes (S, M, L and XL) to fit waists up to 41in.
