Superb construction and cotton-like fabric – a top comfort contender

The first thing you notice about the Carbon’s fabric is that it doesn’t have a synthetic feel like most base layers. Instead, it has a cottony handle and is pleasingly soft to wear.

The construction is one of the best we've tried – it’s not just the no-chafe flat-lock seams, it’s the way the panels are put together to give extra room through the shoulders for movement and the close fit that doesn’t rely on the stretch of the fabric to work.

The quality of the fabric and design made this a top contender, because it’s ultra comfy to wear, but it isn’t a cycling-specific design. To make it perfect, the back could do with being longer, so that it stays within shouting distance of your shorts.
