SKF BXC-600 Bottom Bracket
BikeRadar verdict
"One of the best ISIS bottom brackets available"
As a name in the worldwide bearing industry, SKF are right up there. They've earned themselves a reputation for making high quality parts that work, which are based upon simple and functional designs and manufactured from the best materials for the job. Yet as a bottom bracket maker in the bike world, SKF remain a relatively unknown brand. But we're predicting that that should change soon, because this ISIS bottom bracket has managed to outlast everything we've tested so far.
The roller bearing internals are silky smooth, and even after deliberate pressure-washing abuse, we've not managed to make them even slightly rough. The BXC-600 is a full (axle, main sleeve, roller bearings, ball bearings and bearing races) stainless steel offering and is currently SKF's top-of-the-range bottom bracket. We're keeping this one in a bike and continuing to subject it to our special brand of abuse, so if it lets go, which we doubt, we'll update you in a future issue. The BXC-600 fits 68mm or 73mm bottom bracket shells, it's available with an 113mm or 118mm length axle and it tips the scales at 290g without bolts.
