Stylish Italian made rings for compact chainsets

PMP makes a variety of bike components including cranks, wheels, hubs, stems and seatposts, mostly from aluminium and titanium, for both road and mountain biking.

PMP's chainrings are an aftermarket product perfect for pimping your ride. They're 100 per cent made in Italy so they scream quality, having the pedigree you'd expect of cycling kit from this country. What is really cool, though, is that the company does rings for compact chainsets, including, as far as we know, the only 33 tooth inner ring.

The PMPs are machined from 7075 T6 aluminium then anodised silver and polished for a beautiful shiny finish. They're stiff and solid feeling, with great looks to boot - it's hard not to fall in love with the styling of the outer ring. Fitting was a doddle, as you'd hope, and so far they have ridden well with no problems or signs of premature wear. We'll keep you posted on how well they last in the long term. Regular ring patterns for both Campy and Shimano are available too. As for price, they're a little more expensive than Shimano's Ultegra rings.
