Race Face Deus
BikeRadar verdict
"Slightly heavy but tough, good looking, long lasting cranks at a decent price"
With new carbon cranks arriving imminently, the Deus has dropped in price to make this proven set-up a top tough choice.
The machined alloy arms, chainrings and butted steel axle are stiff and robust, with recessed centre logos keeping its looks intact far longer than most we can think of.
The machined spline tapers are a fight to wind on and off though. Make sure you grease the pedal threads well to avoid pedal removal panic later.
It’s not light by contemporary standards – hence the pending carbon version – but the price has just dropped £60 for 2008 (singlespeed version is £179) which is a big bonus.
