Truvativ Noir XC Team +
BikeRadar verdict
"Stiff and slick shifting, but delicate and a lot of money for what you get"
Truvativ’s cross-country flagship cranks look trick but unfortunately don’t live up to their high tech carbon fibre promise.
The sandwich construction arms are certainly pretty and can take some hammering, as long as you don’t mind cosmetic damage. Uprated chainrings of the Team add £40 over the standard Noir but they last well as long as you avoid rocks, and shifting is Shimano slick. Single-bolt installation is easy too.
The solid construction and internal metal armature means they’re among the heavier sets here, though – only a few grams lighter than their Truvativ's Stylo cranks, which are half the price. Truvativ external bottom brackets die fast too, which knocks the price-to-performance balance down another notch.
