FSA Gossamer Compact ISIS review

This is the baseline model in the FSA compact range of chainsets and will appeal mostly to those who already have an ISIS bottom bracket fitted to their bikes but wish to upgrade to a compact double chainset while on a budget.

Well made but look for discounts

This is the baseline model in the FSA compact range of chainsets and will appeal mostly to those who already have an ISIS bottom bracket fitted to their bikes but wish to upgrade to a compact double chainset while on a budget. The cranks are a taper-fit onto the ISIS axle so they should be tightened carefully.

The three-piece ISIS system may be old hat but when this chainset is combined with the £70 FS A Platinum Pro MegaQuad titanium bottom bracket weighing 172g it is just 796g complete - barely more than the same manufacturer's £175 Gossamer MegaExo aluminium two-piece crankset.
