"XT offers a superb universal chainring changer at a fantastic price"

Front mechs are the Cinderella of any drivetrain, but never has an easy shifting life been so affordable.

New XT's lighter cage brings it to within 25g of XTR, while steel cages ensure a longer lifespan. Broader linkage means burly chain bullying, and they've even nibbled a bit off the back corner for extra tyre clearance. Limiter screws are angled for easy access, it comes in every top mount/ low mount/E type you could want, and it uses a universal shimmed fit so a new bike doesn't mean a new derailleur every time. All for £25? Just buy one!

  • So,

After nearly on ripping my old Deore LX from my frame after an accident I opted to replace it for the XT. Fitting is a five/ten minute job, very easy, straight forward. Please note I have the top swing arm, not the one pictured above (Althoguht same model). I would recommend this to anyone, I wasnt keen on the XTR due to it being fairly lightweight and me being rather heavty and riding like ive stolen my bike! The XT feels robust and strong. The gear changes are effortless and smooth, theres a nice reasuring clunk when downchanging. It doesnt overshoot when changing up gears either. Very happy I fitted it, make my LX seem a million years old. Love it.

    Wu.
