Hope Technology Mono Mini basic
BikeRadar verdict
"Super upgradeable and super light cross-country brake but a bit lacking in power"
Arguably the prettiest and certainly the most upgradeable brake we've tested lately, Hope’s super light Mini is a great cross-country option.
Super crisp looks are lovingly machined from billet aluminium, anodised, laser etched and hand assembled.
Even in its basic form, this creates a brake that’s lighter than most others. Adding an alloy centred floating rotor, carbon lever and braided hose upgrades gives potential to make it the lightest stopper available, and you can even get various bits custom laser etched.
Weight considerations mean there’s no bite point adjustment and it’s below average on power for a given rotor size, but it’s super cheap for the level of finishing. Hope’s service is legendary – they have crew at most big events too.
