Marzocchi 66 RC3 | $1100
BikeRadar verdict
"Super supple, widely adjustable and strong but heavy freeride fork "
Marzocchi’s massive 66 fork is a freeride stalwart, and this year’s is even bigger.
The bottom end gets a monster ‘Bomber’ logo brace, buttressed post mounts and huge dropout blocks sliding on 38mm stanchions for maximum strength. The new screw-through axle, axle guides, twin bolt hose pinch and 1.5in steerer option make set-up easy too.
Too much pressure in the supplementary air spring can make them feel notchy but otherwise they’re beautifully fluid. The RC3 cartridge damping adds useful high and low speed compression control.
They’re pretty hefty though and we’ve heard about more reliability problems than usual recently too.
