RockShox Argyle 302 (08) | $537.01
BikeRadar verdict
"Tight, sweetly controlled and super reliable. Argyle is still our No 1 jump fork"
Basically a beefed-up, shorter travel Pike, Argyle has been chieftain of the jump fork clan since it appeared.
The proven bottom end benefits from RockShox’s simple but secure Maxle 20mm screw through-axle for extra tracking stiffness. The steel top end is fully reinforced so you’ve no worries if you come up short on a set.
It’s the cheapest fork around that has anything that feels like proper suspension. It’s still tuned to suck up big stuff, but there’s enough compliance for holding traction on less groomed trails. The additional Floodgate platform control of the 318 models is well worth the extra money if you’ve got it.
