RockShox Lyrik Solo Air (09) | $1270
BikeRadar verdict
"Light, tight tracking and with super tuneable control. Excessive cost though"
The Lyrik Solo Air has the same chassis as its coil-sprung Lyrik U-Turn brother, with 35mm stanchions and a Maxle 20mm screw-through axle making it accurate and trustworthy.
The single air spring drops 250g compared to the coil and 200g compared to the 115/160mm adjustable 2-Step air versions, making it very competitive on weight. After a few hours bedding in, it’s almost as smooth as the coil Lyrik.
The multi-channel Mission Control damping lets riders of all weights benefit from custom level tool-free tuning. The Solo Air is also more reliabile than the 2-Step, leaving only its newly inflated price as an obstacle.
