The Switch 780 bars from K9 are made from 7075 aluminium and are 740mm wide. However, they come with screw-in adaptors that can increase the width to a whopping 780mm.
The screw-in adaptors that are supplied come in 2.5, 10, 15 and 20mm sizes, making it easy to tailor the width. We used the 2.5mm adaptors because they double as sturdy bar end caps.
The 8.5-degree backsweep and 4.5-degree upsweep felt comfortable and the 20mm rise was perfect for our enduro-style downhill bike. We like the idea of additional screw-in adaptors to increase bar width, but in reality, we rarely deviate from our favourite bar widths.
The quality and finish of the Switch bars is great. They’ve suffered no end of rough treatment and have come out shining. The alignment marks are wide enough that you can see them even when bolting the bars into the fattest stem, so setup is easy every time.
