Ragley's new Wiser is the sensible option among a family of weird and wonderful bar shapes. There’s slightly more sweep than average, but it’s not very noticeable, and there are 25 and 38mm rise options available.
Our sample was 3mm out of true across the tips, but it’s not noticeable on the bike. It’s well priced for a triple-butted 7000 series bar and the subtly tapered shape is shot-peened to increase stress resistance. Graphics are a small centre alignment marker and two Ragley logos so you’ll have to mark your own trim lines if 715mm is too wide for you.
It feels good on the bike. The shape falls easily to hand and, while the deflection figures and CEN pass mark suggest it’s a stiff and strong bar, the shaping means it hasn’t got an overly stinging feel on rockier trails.
