Race Face SixC riser bar review

BikeRadar verdict
"Lightweight, high-strength, power assist bar with great feel but at a high cost"
Shopping partners
Race Face’s SixC carbon bar is an impressively tough yet light option, if you can afford it. The composite construction uses reinforced tips to handle lock-on grips or the occasional drop without getting damaged, although we’d recommend using end plugs.
The raised centre section logo adds grip and angle/sideways adjustment accuracy. Cut marks on the tips show how much you’re removing in span and grams, though most users will probably want to keep them full width. At just under 730mm, the SixC is in the high leverage, power-assisted steering category.
It’s stiff enough to capitalise on bolt-through forks and other accuracy enhancements. Race Face bars have long been our benchmark for a great natural feel and our testers felt at home with it straight away. While weight savings on alloy equivalents are over 50g you’ll pay 50 percent more for the privilege.

Maybe you should mention that RaceFace no longer exist as a company, so if you have any problems you're entirely reliant on the good will of shops/importers to sort it out.

have this bar on my Ibis Mojo and it is fantastic! only downside is I cant afford one for my Cotic Soul :-) super stiff and really light! short stem and this bar will make you awesome!
still stumped how the review has no negatives but it only gets 3 stars.....
how are stars awarded?

I believe the rating system is based on a series of random number tables and how much free stuff the company gave the reviewer. Or at least that how it seems.
If Guy's handlebar reviews are conducted in the same lazy way that his brake reviews are done he'll get them out of the packet, look at them and form an opinion and then write something he saw in the product catalogue before giving them a rating based on astrology rather than hard fact.

These are available for a lot less than RRP from one of the shopping partners linked to on the right of this page.
I completely agree with Drapper, they are fantastic. Super stiff and a great sweep/rise.
I have 2 of these; one on my Cove HJ, the other on my Slayer SXC. I've coupled them with 70mm stems and the steering is super-responsive and I can climb better on my HT with this combo than I could with a 90mm/685mm setup.
I don't understand the star rating system either. The Answer Pro-Taper 720 AM Carbon bar recently got 4.5 stars and it's the same price and roughly the same weight and width. There was no mention made of the price for that review??

Considering as the original Easton Monkey Lite bar was £99 about 10 years ago, now that everything in the world has gone up in price by about 25% since then and the fact that these are wider, stronger and nicer, £120 is a real bargain.
