Chris King NoThreadset
BikeRadar verdict
"An effective design means they'll last the distance"
Chris King don't make an integrated headset because they believe that running the bearings directly in the frame is bad engineering practice. The NoThreadset uses surgical-grade stainless steel cartridge bearings that do a great job.
They come in a vast range of anodised colours, there's a lifetime warranty thrown in and if their current reliability record is anything to go buy you'll never have to buy another. Stack height is 31.4mm and it's available as tested in 1 1/8in diameter only, though the titanium version is available in 1in.

User review of Chris King NoThreadset
I was lucky enough to have one of these on my last mountain bike. I went for the name first, but found it does exaclty what it needs to. Never has the term 'fit and forget' so fitted a product. Through the worst weather and grit, it stayed smooth. To say how good it was, I had to fiddle with gears, tyres, etc but forgot about the headset. Thats why they are such good value.
