Crank Brothers Candy C | $109.38
BikeRadar verdict
"Tough and innovative but try before you buy"
Cranks Bros' innovative design uses spring loaded engagement bars. Some found entry to the original Egg Beaters difficult and Crank Bros' answer to this is their Candy and Quattro ranges that use a surrounding platform to aid entry.
While the testers were impressed that the cleat could not be felt when using soft sole touring and off-road shoes they are slightly harder to clip into than the others.
The Quattro series is intended for hard sole shoe users and includes a support to make them safer to walk in on hard surfaces.
Release tension is non-adjustable and there's 10 or 20 degrees of float depending on which way the cleats are positioned. Deck height is 14mm.
