Powerplay Force review

The Force pedal from Powerplay is quite square, and that's noticeable under foot, it's a lot more solid and supportive than the similar looking offerings, a bit like the original Shimano SPDs all those years ago.

Solid platform pedal but the softer 'release feel' may not suit everyone

The Force pedal from Powerplay is quite square, and that's noticeable under foot. It's a lot more solid and supportive than similar looking offerings, a bit like the original Shimano SPDs all those years ago. Your foot feels very much on the pedal rather than floating above it via the cleat. It feels solid with dual sealed bearings, but it's not as overtly open as other pedal designs so it's more prone to sticking with mud. There's the standard degree of float with the Shimano cleat compatible mechanism but the release tension and exit click is very soft, so float-happy and heavy riders can find themselves clipping out all the time.
